Footbridge Beach
Just a quarter-mile from The Ogunquit Tides, Footbridge Beach is, indeed, accessed via quaint footbridge. It’s also Boston Magazine’s No. 1 beach in New England and Yankee Magazine’s “best southern Maine beach to avoid the crowds”.
Beach-Hopping
From Footbridge Beach, walk south along Ogunquit’s famous white-sand beach to the main access point downtown. Further south, the town of York hosts Long Sands and Short Sands Beaches as well as the Nubble Lighthouse right on Shore Road. To our north, Wells Beach promises seven miles of barrier beaches on the harbor and nearby Kennebunk has even more!
Fishing
Charters launching from Ogunquit’s historic Perkins Cove will ferry and equip you for a day of trolling Maine’s best deep-sea fishing holes. For the casual fisher, guests have been known to catch striped bass of great size as tides change in the brackish water of Ogunquit River.
Hiking
Maine’s natural wonders unfold over miles of hiking and biking trails, including those at Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge, The Marginal Way, Mt. Agamenticus, and The Wells Reserve at Laudholm.
Biking
Both road and mountain bikers will find their niche in Ogunquit. For road cyclists, scenic routes hug the coastline (e.g. Shore Road) or weave inland toward the Berwicks. Off-road enthusiasts may enjoy the challenge of The Eastern Trail and sections of advanced terrain on the slopes of Mt. Agamenticus.

Ogunquit is a veritable golfing paradise with a range of local courses to test your skills. Among them: Cape Arundel Golf Club, Cape Neddick Country Club, Dutch Elm Golf Club, Old Marsh Country Club, Sanford Country Club, The Ledges Golf Club, The Links at Outlook, and Webhannet Golf Club.
